For the Front Range Youth Symphony (FRYS), I created a vibrant, professional rebrand that reflects their commitment to musical excellence and community. Prompted by a need to refresh a logo that hadn’t been updated since the early 2000s, the new identity brings to life the energy, talent, and sense of belonging that defines FRYS, positioning them as both a prestigious training orchestra and a welcoming hub for young musicians across the Front Range.

The Ask
Redesign the outdated FRYS visual identity to better reflect their high-level musical training, inclusive community, and youthful energy. The branding needed to appeal to both aspiring musicians and their families, as well as signal prestige and professionalism to partners and donors.
The Design
I developed a dynamic new logo system that balances structure with motion, mirroring the artistry and discipline of orchestral performance. The design features elegant typographic forms and a fluid icon inspired by musical notation and sound waves. The updated color palette blends deep blues and coppery golds to evoke tradition and creativity. I applied this refreshed identity across concert programs, social media, and outreach materials to create a cohesive and compelling visual presence.

Using Illustrator and Photoshop, I explored a range of typographic and graphic concepts that spoke to both the classical roots and youthful spirit of FRYS. I collaborated with the Arvada Center’s education and music staff to ensure the new brand honored the program’s legacy while looking ahead. The final deliverables included a brand guide, logo suite, and branded assets tailored for both print and digital use.
